About Our Pharmacies
KentHealthClinics.co.uk is the travel clinic service of Mediclinic Pharmacies — two local, GPhC-registered community pharmacies serving Gillingham: Mediclinic Pharmacy on Watling Street and Phoenix Pharmacy in Wigmore. We run from the same premises you already know for NHS prescriptions.
Every travel consultation is led by a registered pharmacist working to current NaTHNaC and UKHSA guidance. We assess where you’re going, what you’ll be doing there, and what you actually need — no GP referral, no waiting list, and appointments that fit around a working week.
Why Vaccinate?
Many diseases that are rare in the UK, such as typhoid, hepatitis A and rabies, remain common in parts of Asia, Africa, and South and Central America. Vaccination is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself while travelling.
Ideally visit 4 to 6 weeks before you travel, as some vaccines need multiple doses or time to work. Travelling sooner? Still worth coming in, many vaccines offer useful protection at short notice and we prioritise what matters most.
The NHS covers a small number of travel vaccines. Many others, including rabies, Japanese encephalitis and meningitis ACWY, are only available privately. We give you the full range in one visit.
Saudi Arabia requires proof of Meningitis ACWY vaccination for Hajj and Umrah visas, and other destinations set their own entry requirements. We check what your itinerary needs and tell you exactly what to carry.
